Earth, Wind & Fire

Earth, Wind & Fire has a permanent spot etched into American music history, what with its induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, millions of records sold, and its most popular song, “Shining Star,” inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame. Since forming in 1969, the group has gone through a myriad of lineup changes over the decades but remained headed by Maurice White, all while seamlessly combining funk, soul, and enough disco glitter to keep up in the ’70s. The band lost steam in the ’80s and went on hiatus for several years, most recently releasing a studio album in 2005 titled Illumination, and following it with several re-releases and a live album.
