Artist Ellis Paul

Ellis Paul first found fame in and around his native Maine and later led the Boston folk scene throughout the ’90s, but he’s gradually become a regular on the national folk circuit. He’s had a couple of brushes with the mainstream, including songs on the soundtracks to Me, Myself & Irene and Shallow Hal (the Farrelly brothers are fans), but Paul earns a living by pleasing his small but loyal audience, including those whose donations financed the recording of 2010’s The Day After Everything Changed. In return, The Day After features some of the best songwriting of his 21-year career, and his performance of eight solo albums over four shows earned him his own day in the city of Boston. His new record, The Hero In You, is a kid-friendly album focusing on heroic figures from American history.
