Eric Bachmann

Eric Bachmann got his start with Archers Of Loaf, a fixture of ’90s college radio that took the aggressive energy of The Replacements and mercilessly merged it with Pavement’s off-kilter sense of space and time. After they broke up, Bachmann moved along to Crooked Fingers, a solo project-turned-band that placed his rich, battle-scarred voice over folk arrangements to majestic effect, most recently on 2008’s Forfeit/Fortune. But Bachmann has proved too restless for just one act, and he’s been releasing solo work as well, the latest of which is 2006’s elegant and spare To The Races
