Eve 6

The resurgence of ’90 musical mentality, as well as the return of original guitarist Jon Siebels to the fold, is likely what sparked Fearless Records’ interest in reviving the Eve 6 brand in 2012. If nostalgia is the reason for the return (it has to be, right?), that raises the question of why Eve 6’s lead single from the new Speak In Code, “Victoria,” marks such a notable departure from the group’s most memorable hit, “Inside Out.” It’s at least theoretically possible the band could capture some all-new lightning in a bottle (or heart in a blender) without alienating its core group of fans, offering a framework to move forward. If not… well, there are always the royalties from “Inside Out” being a perpetual staple on Now That’s What I Call Rock-style compilations to look forward to.
