Artist Everybody Was In The French Resistance… Now!
Apparently in need of another outlet for making smart-assed, chuckle-worthy rock, Art Brut’s Eddie Argos formed spoof band Everybody Was In The French Resistance...Now with The Blood Arm’s Dyan Valdés. Trading Art Brut’s big guitar riffs and garage swagger for handclaps and piano, the duo takes pop music’s badly behaving women to task and offers another side of the story with the “response” songs on its debut, Fixin’ The Charts Volume One. In EWITFRN’s world, the would-be homewrecker from Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” gets shot down for being a stalker, the bastard child of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” expresses contempt for his absentee dad, and Martha And The Vandellas’ “Jimmy Mack” says “no way” to reconciliation with his cheating gal.
