Face To Face

Face To Face

For much of the ’90s, California band Face To Face seemed poised for big things. The band’s hooky, melodic punk fit nicely in the post-Green Day landscape, but it never quite left the underground, thanks to major-label indifference and a disastrous stylistic change on 1999’s Ignorance Is Bliss. The band bounced back with a pair of stellar albums, 2000’s tellingly titled Reactionary and 2002’s How To Ruin Everything, but it wasn’t surprising when the band broke up in 2004. Nor was it surprising when the band got back together in 2008, albeit without the promise of new material. However, 2011 saw the release of Laugh Now, Laugh Later, which is more polished than the raw How To Ruin Everything, but still captures the band’s sound. Its current tour finds the band playing a series of acoustic dates.
