Fambly Fun!
The experimental hip-hop of Fambly Fun! has served as a highly prolific outlet for Corey Murphy and John Praw Kruse of Pushmi-Pullyu to uncork some of the most outlandish ideas bouncing around their heads. The group’s upcoming full-length, The Machine—dubbed a “hip-hopera”—started as a soundtrack to a hypothetical sequel to Space Jam and eventually turned into an epic adventure album involving robot unicorns and laser-armed octopi with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Though an unsettling amount of misfortune has befallen these fellows recently—their guitarist was mugged and shot through the leg in April—the Fambly prevails, with the band releasing a benefit single, “Little Steps,” for their friend and bandmate.
