Farms In Trouble

A loose-limbed musical project containing members of Milwaukee’s The Trusty Knife, Farms In Trouble may not be the most prolific band, but it comes through when it counts. Drawing on Guided By Voices, Elephant 6, and Captain Beefheart, Farms In Trouble’s debut 2008 full-length, The Gas Station Soundtrack, alternates between concise blasts of melodic bliss and meandering sonic collages over 27 tracks. It’s a thrilling, ramshackle record that feels all the more precious because it never quite falls apart. The group recently released a long-awaited followup album, Warp & Woof.
