Fat Men In Skirts
Mercury Players Theatre’s production of Nicky Silver’s Fat Men In Skirts is a relentlessly bleak comedy in which Phyllis Hogan and her son Bishop are stranded on a desert island for five years, during which time they become cannibals and lovers. They’re eventually rescued, though “rescue” becomes a relative term when they find that returning to civilization and shedding their savage lifestyles isn’t the easiest task. Adding to all the squeamishness, Phyllis’ husband decides to move his new fiancée into their home under the pretense that she's the house maid.
