Artist Federico Aubele

Presenting a synthesis of world music styles that includes cooperative blends of Jamaican dub and Spanish guitar, Federico Aubele first surfaced on the Thievery Corporation’s ESL Music label. That Washington, D.C. DJ duo also produced Aubele’s debut album, Gran Hotel Buenos Aires. From there Aubele’s made appearances at festivals including ACL Fest and Lollapalooza, and his latest release, Berlin 13, traces its influences to tarot readings and outré composers like Arnold Schoenberg and Karlheinz Stockhausen, presenting guitar-fused, electronic compositions drawn out with Aubele’s calm and cool delivery. The album also includes guests like Natalia Clavier and Jesse Harris.
