Fever Ray

Fever Ray is an exceptionally eerie and affecting new project of Karin Dreijer Andersson from The Knife, a group that itself doesn't exactly skimp on eeriness or affect. The sound she favors in her Fever Ray guise is slow and suggestive, creeping forward in electronic fashion while Andersson's striking voice—pitched somewhere between that of a bright-eyed child and a sad cadaver—slinks along. Her unsettling videos have gotten lots of attention (rightly), but the music on this year's self-titled Fever Ray doesn't really need anything extra to recommend it. Don't miss the shows during this "Finale Tour," which Andersson says will be Fever Ray's last.
