Five Finger Death Punch's chugging backhoe of thrash-metal riffs sits atop a tricky songwriting formula: The L.A. band often straddles the macho-apocalypse batterings of Lamb Of God, metalcore breakdowns, and moany-groany modern-rock radio hooks. It can get awkward, but tracks from 2009's War Is The Answer still have some teeth.
