Five For Fighting

Five For Fighting

Singer-songwriter John Ondrasik, a.k.a. Five For Fighting, became a household name in 2000 when the piano-plonking “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” raced up the adult contemporary charts and linked superheroes with a melodramatic falsetto. Another single, “100 Years” from 2004’s The Battle For Everything, flooded the media with appearances on SmallvilleScrubs, and One Tree Hill, ensuring that Ondrasik was not merely a one-hit wonder. 2009’s Slice showed Five For Fighting still plodding through the same sort of lamenting piano tunes, but augmented by a glossy strings section befitting of Elton John and with the melodic tendencies of Billy Joel.
