Artist Flame Shark

Former Madison band Flame Shark hasn’t necessarily rushed to change up its sound or approach since moving to Chicago, but the trio has kept on writing and recording friendly pop songs backed with gentle acoustic strumming and cheerful Hammond organ. The band’s 2009 effort, Raw Flowers, once again plays like country-rock with a little psychedelia to take the edge off, leaving the songs thoughtful yet low-pressure. Justin Jahnke and crew seem to be fine with the formula, keeping it up on last year’s Farm Life with a little help from Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford.
