A.V. Club: Best of the Decade

Artist Fleet Foxes

One of 2008’s most talked-about newcomers, Fleet Foxes lived up to the hype by delivering an excellent debut album that was matched (or, some might say, exceeded) by its amazing live shows full of banter and knee-buckling multipart harmonies. Revolving around wunderkind singer, guitarist, and songwriter Robin Pecknold, the Seattle outfit plays intricately designed folk-pop that pulls off the rare feat of sounding classic and fresh at the same time. Fleet Foxes is still barely a year old, so expect to hear plenty of it here.
