Flight Of The Conchords

Flight Of The Conchords have continued a surprising ascent toward stardom for two guys who get by on humor that is bone-dry and then some. Always quiet, lacking in charisma, and, perhaps most mysteriously, from New Zealand, the duo have made their HBO show the subject of loving chatter. Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement’s funny, accomplished songs manage to nail everything from hip-hop (“Mutha’uckas”) to folk (“A Kiss Is Not A Contract”) to sappy soul (“The Most Beautiful Girl (In The Room)”) while holding fast to their straight-faced absurdism.
