Flosstradamus

The DJ duo of Curt Cameruci and Josh Young—known collectively as Flosstradamus—stormed the Chicago club scene in the middle of the last decade. Cameruci and Young’s playful, unpredictable mixes helped them establish several residencies throughout the Windy City, though it was Young’s rapping sibling Melissa, a.k.a. Kid Sister, who helped expose Flosstradamus to a wider audience, like the finepeople at Fool’s Gold who are releasing the band’s latest EP, Jubilation, soon. The duo’s latest single, “Luuk Out Girl,” aims to be a hyped-up, footwork-inspired jam, but it doesn’t quite go to 11, instead hovering somewhere around mildly interesting and somewhat danceable, despite the excellent vocal stylings of the aforementioned Kid Sister. Still, the duo’s best when feeling the movements of more than just one body, so Flosstradamus should tear it up live.
