Follow That Bird

The momentum toward Follow That Bird’s first full-length album has been building since the band first touched down in Austin. You can hear as much in the motorik-driven intro to the forthcoming “Wooden Bones” / “Antlers” 7-inch—though bassist Paul Brinkley’s metronomic plucking is quickly diverted from the autobahn by Tiffanie Lanmon’s delayed-reaction drumming. When the familiar six-string swell of frontwoman Lauren Green settles in, the band is propelled to entirely different territory, ambling toward wide-open desert vistas where Green’s chiming tones can ring out for miles and miles. The next stop is an LP for Mt. Fuji in the fall.
