Friday The 13th

The template for horror movies full of dumb teens getting butchered is, undoubtedly, John Carpenter’s Halloween. But where that movie left off, Friday The 13th picked up. Two years after Halloween, the 1980 slash-fest dropped the victims’ IQs, upped the body count, and introduced a masked killer even more inhuman than Halloween’s Michael Myers, making for truly gruesome suspense that marked Jason’s star-turn in Friday The 13th as a milestone of its genre.
