Frightened Rabbit
Frightened Rabbit’s 2008 album, The Midnight Organ Fight, ignited plenty of passion for the Scottish band—no surprise given its dark subject matter and churning guitars. The Winter Of Mixed Drinks, the band’s 2010 effort, expands its sound and requires a little more patience, but it’s no less rewarding: “Swim Until You Can’t See Land” could be one of the year’s best singles. Live, Frightened Rabbit tears through its songs with beautiful bursts of joy and misery.
