Garbage
Casual fans probably remember Garbage best for “Only Happy When It Rains” and a few other lesser hits of the same vintage. More dedicated followers are well aware that the band continued to put out solid material well into this century, through 2005’s Bleed Like Me, the band’s chart-topping album. A greatest-hits package in 2007 kept hope alive for fans, and that hope paid off a few years later when a new album was announced. That record, Not Your Kind Of People, hit the streets this May, just in time for the band to ride a wave of ’90s nostalgia and a renaissance of the kind of atmospheric, dirty avant-pop it pioneered.
