Ghislain Poirier
Ghislain Poirier is from Montreal (dig the French-Canadian name) and plays all kinds of music with big bottoms and thwacking tops. He's made records for the labels Chocolate Industries and Ninja Tune, the latter of which put out a 2008 artist-album called No Ground Under. The sound? A boisterous mix touching on ragga dancehall and hip-hop, all a little slanted and always with a lot of spirit.
