Gin Blossoms

Gin Blossoms

Has the morose, jangling sound of Gin Blossoms aged well? Actually, yeah, it has. Early-’90s singles like “Hey Jealousy” and “Til I Hear It From You” are still as enjoyable live as they used to be on the radio. Over the course of a turbulent career, the Blossoms released two strong albums, a few great pop-rock singles, and a monumentally unnecessary greatest-hits set before succumbing to turmoil and label troubles. After a brief hiatus—during which members took on side projects like Gas Giants and Roger Clyne And The Peacemakers—the band returned in 2002 and released an expanded 34-track (!) reissue of 1992’s New Miserable Experience. But the Gin Blossoms appear committed to not resting on their laurels with last year’s release of No Chocolate Cake.
