In spring, a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love; in summer, Girls Girls Girls’ fancy turns to improvising with boys, boys, boys. In a time-honored tradition reaching back to the earliest days of improv in Austin, the all-singing, all-dancing, all-female troupe takes on one male cast member per week for a run of shows at The Hideout. It’s a refreshing change of pace amid the late-July doldrums—and it’s also a chance to see some of Austin’s best improvisers out of their element, rising to the occasion of crafting Broadway-style songs (and off-off-off-Broadway-style choreography) on the spot.
