Glasser

For better or worse, Cameron Mesirow, also known as Glasser, has captured the attention of the hipstamatic toting, headband wearing tastemakers over at Pitchfork and The Fader, who made her a recent cover girl. Her debut record, Ring, is hypnotically ambitious, tribal in some respects, and electronically droning in others. Her vocals are multi-tracked, creating a full choral affect that she’ll hopefully be able to recreate live. Like Joanna Newsom, Imogen Heap, and maybe even a little of CocoRosie before her, Mesirow’s managed to create a complete environment for listeners to immerse themselves in like a warm bath laced with horse tranquilizers.
