Mew fans who have gotten antsy waiting for another batch of huge art-rock tunes may find some comfort in Glasvegas, a horribly named Glaswegian outfit that’s more straightforward than its Danish counterpart but similarly epic in its approach to distorted pop music. And the connections don’t end there: Both bands have worked with producer Rich Costey and are signed, against all odds, to Columbia Records. 2008’s self-titled debut was received warmly for its shoegaze-y anthems, and new second LP Euphoric Heartbreak was released in 2011.
