Gobble Gobble

March’s mini-tour with Baths had Canadian four-piece Gobble Gobble donning tutus and fairy wings as it churned out one spastic, synthed-out dance hit after another. But that’s nothing new, given the band’s out-there stylings. The band’s been touring North America since 2009, releasing a few scattered 7” EPs and remix tracks along the way—most notably 2010’s Lawn Knives. Judging by the music itself, with its futuristic pop hooks and singsong choruses a plenty, it might be hard to believe that frontman Cecil Frena has his roots in Alberta’s flourishing hardcore scene, but Gobble Gobble’s aptitude for house shows and free downloads says otherwise.
