Artist Good Old War

It’s all well and good for present-day bands to cue up some dusty Americana, especially when they sing harmonies as nicely as Philadelphia trio Good Old War. On the other hand, they might as well be honest with themselves and bring along some of the more modern pop melodies they grew up with. GOW’s debut, Only Way To Be Alone, finds a pleasant balance between the two sides, neither skimping on the old-time percussive kick of acoustic guitars nor sweeping its love of hummable choruses under the ol’ bearskin rug. On the current tour, expect newer material from the band’s third album, Come Back As Rain.
