Gov't Mule
Formed by Allman Brothers Band replacement members Warren Haynes and Allen Woody, Gov’t Mule plays boogie-woogie rock that splits the difference between noodly jam bands and the riffage of Cream. After Woody’s death in 2000, the band recorded a pair of tributes called The Deep End, with bass duties granted to a lineup of Woody favorites—Flea, Bootsy Collins, Mike Watt, Les Claypool, Phil Lesh, and Mike Gordon of Phish, among others. Since then, when he’s not keeping busy with both the Allmans and The Dead, Haynes has soldiered on with a prolific touring schedule and a songbook that got thicker with a 2009 album called By A Thread.
