Graham Colton plays straight-ahead, radio-friendly heartland rock that wears its debt to Counting Crows and Tom Petty on its sleeve. The Oklahoma City songwriter has some growing to do as a performer and composer, but his take on the basic early 20s problems of falling in love and self-discovery have an honest, sincere charm. His “Best Days” served as the exit music for American Idol in 2007, and the title track from this year’s Pacific Coast Eyes ought to earn further soundtrack gigs: It’s a Fountains Of Wayne-esque ditty for average Joe romantics that bursts into a chorus made for climactic make-out sessions.
