If celebrity chefs can be likened to stand-up comedians, Anthony Bourdain is hipster-approved Zach Galifianakis, Rachael Ray is mainstream sweetheart Ellen DeGeneres, and Guy Fieri is dullard magnet Dane Cook. With his spiky, bleached hair, too-expensive tacky sunglasses (always worn behind his head, of course), and ridiculously manicured facial hair, Fieri is a walking encyclopedia of idiocy. But as easy as it is to mock Fieri for appearing T.G.I. Friday’s commercials, and for other acts of inherent jackassery, the guy is pretty benign for the most part. That doesn’t mean that his live show will be any good, especially because it promises “the fun of a variety revue and the non-stop adrenaline rush of a rock concert,” but, hey, somebody’s got to like him, right?
