Hall And Oates

At the time of pop-soul duo Hall And Oates’ global dominance, critics shrugged as their catchy ditties scorched the charts. “Kiss On My List” and other now-classics were safe, musical fluff absolutely void of artistic merit. Thirty years later, Daryl Hall and John Oates continue to prove naysayers wrong with an inexplicably enormous fan base that keeps coming back for more. For a lot of people, apparently smooth harmonies and feathered hair never go out of style, which might also explain the recent boom of toothless soft rock on top 40 radio. Hall And Oates might not be Bob Dylan, but good luck resisting those double claps whenever “Private Eyes” comes on at the grocery store.
