Hate Eternal

Possibly to offset its reputation as the home of Mickey Mouse, retirees, and sunshine, Florida has established a history of producing death metal as guttural and severe as anything Napalm Death and its English brethren ever belched up across the pond. Tampa’s Hate Eternal formed in the late ’90s, and its strong run of heavy full-lengths has been marred by inner-band struggles. Overcoming both the death of bassist-vocalist Jared Anderson (also of Morbid Angel) and the departure of drummer Derek Roddy, lead singer Erik Rutan reformed the band with new members and recorded Phoenix Amongst The Ashes, the fifth album issued under the Hate Eternal banner.
