Artist Hellogoodbye

  • Hellogoodbye

Hellogoodbye took four years to follow up its 2006 breakthrough, Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, and, in the process, emerged an entirely different band. There’s not a lick of the Auto-Tuned vocals or bratty sense of humor that endeared the band to the Warped Tour crowd on the new Would It Kill You?—replaced instead by an effervescent, expansive pop sound, seemingly inspired by the genre-busting music producer Matt Mahaffey used to make as Self. Aided by Mahaffey, Hellogoodbye frontman Forrest Kline fills in the spaces of Would It Kill You? with sunshiny strokes of chamber-pop orchestration, subtle electronics, and endlessly catchy choruses, without sacrificing the vulnerability that made Forrest so many fans in the first place.
