Henry Cho
Tennessee-born Henry Cho does what few can: He makes redneck comedy funny, and he does it with clean, accessible humor. Where comics like Jeff Foxworthy and Larry The Cable Guy have capitalized on small-town, blue-collar life with self-parodying shtick, Cho goes about it in a much less obnoxious way with anecdotal observations about growing up Korean in the Deep South. He’s an Asian with a Southern accent, he’s often remarked, and that there is funny enough. Cho announced in 2007 that he was working with CBS and late-night host Craig Ferguson to develop a family-friendly sitcom based on Cho’s life and stand-up, although nothing apparently came of it.
