Her Space Holiday

Her Space Holiday

Under the moniker Her Space Holiday, Marc Bianchi has been making bedroom pop for more than a decade, alternately exploring his interests in electronic glitch, depressed folk, and introverted indie rap over the course of six albums. In 2008, however, he surprised everyone with XOXO, Panda And The New Kid Revival, a jammy, folk-influenced disc—which is given the live treatment from a band that includes Andrew Kenny (The Wooden Birds) and the Bell brothers of Lymbyc Systym—that traded Bianchi’s laptop (and his usual hothouse flower melancholia) for guitar, banjo, mandolin, and other analog approaches to creating unabashedly cheery, sun-dappled ’60s pop.
