Hideous Men
Punchy, glittery, and bursting with warped Lil Wayne samples, Denver’s Hideous Men are a perfect mesh of hip-hop and 8-bit. The duo’s live shows incite a hyphy revival of sorts, as the Auto-Tuned vocals of Kristi Schaefer and Ryan McRyhew punctuate laptop beats and rapped lines. In 2009, the duo released a self-titled EP on its own Laser Palace label, and has followed with a stream of limited edition, hand-painted cassette-tape collaborations with other local musicians.
