Holy Fuck

holy fuck

Holy Fuck plays electronic music that seems squarely aimed at rockists who insist that electronic music lacks musicianship. The group creates lushly layered songs without the help of laptops, sequencers, or samplers—all in mind of what the Toronto group calls a “chaotic live celebration of lo-fi noise and weirdo Casio-driven rock.” But before you can say, “Great, another goofy noise band,” the charming grooves and subtle hooks stand to leave even the most steadfast naysayer unexpectedly dancing. Plus, the band members are just so damn enthusiastic about the whole pursuit that it’s impossible not to throw them a bone. The band’s sophomore effort, Latin, is an absolute ripper, with layers upon layers of sonic dissonance and dance grooves.
