Hooded Fang
Call us suckers, but we’re suckers for any band who takes its name from a Mordecai Richler book. And while we like St. Urbain’s Horsemen, The Barney’s Versions, and The Duddy Kravitz Apprenticeship Experience Featuring Solomon Gursky as potentials, we’ll always be partial to Hooded Fang. A favourite of the CBC Radio 3 airwaves, Toronto’s Hooded Fang (named, presumably, after Richler’s children’s novel Jacob Two-Two Meets The Hooded Fang), released an EP in 2011, ESP, which sees the band shaping its jangly, indie-pop sound into something more ethereal—like music for a haunted malt shop.
