Artist Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan
She’ll probably never escape the “former member of Belle And Sebastian” tag (and B&S leader Stuart Murdoch has written a song or two that will forever remind listeners of their failed relationship), but Isobel Campbell has proven over the years that she’s an able-bodied purveyor of old-timey pop. The angelic-voiced chanteuse has already amassed an impressive discography, including two albums as The Gentle Waves, a proper solo debut (2003’s Amorino), and a pair of duo albums with smoky crooner Mark Lanegan of Screaming Trees and Queens Of The Stone Age. The latest of those is 2008’s Sunday At Devil Dirt, a portentous title to be sure.
