Claudette Colbert stars as an independent-minded young woman who runs away from her wealthy, domineering father by diving off their yacht in Miami and making her way north to New York. On the bus, she meets a dashing older reporter, played by Clark Gable, and the two eventually fall in love, though not before some colorful banter first.
