Ivan And Alyosha

The Brothers Karamazov reference from which Ivan And Alyosha take their name may seem a little pretentious, but you’d have to agree that “Tim And Ryan” just doesn’t have the same punch. Tim Wilson and Ryan Carbary were originally part of different musical projects before meeting up and throwing their lots together as Ivan And Alyosha. The group was greeted with significant attention during last year’s SXSW, which also spawned a Tiny Desk Concert at NPR. Their second EP, Fathers Be Kind, full of gentle folk like the title track and “Glorify,” was released this February as a follow-up to 2009’s self-explanatory The Verse, The Chorus EP.
