Jack Johnson

Affable Hawaiian surfer dude Jack Johnson doesn’t get much critical respect; the term “laid-back” is used only slightly more often than the much harsher “boring,” and usually they're both meant to convey the same thing. But Johnson's pleasant pop-rock has certainly found a fervent audience, as evidenced by the success of this year’s To The Sea, which finds him in an even mellower mood than usual.
