Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne is a pioneer of the confessional singer-songwriter movement of the late ’60s, holding songwriting credits for the likes of Nico, The Eagles, and The Byrds, as well as four decades of his own critically revered hits, including “Doctor My Eyes” and “Somebody’s Baby.” He’s also been outspoken on progressive issues, especially since the Reagan era: In 2009, he won a lawsuit against the McCain campaign for its unauthorized use of Browne’s 1977 mega-hit, “Running On Empty.” More recently, he’s been throwing his boomer weight behind the climate change and anti-plastic bag lobbies, while still putting out Love Is Strange: En Vivo Con Tino, a live recording from his, guitarist David Lindley’s, and a large cast of musicians’ 2006 Spanish tour.
