Jake Johannsen
Jake Johannsen’s tenure on the late-night TV circuit dates back to Johnny Carson’s reign on The Tonight Show. Dozens of performances for Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, and David Letterman later, Johannsen seems the epitome of the journeyman comic, elevating the banal to the level of bizarre and helping to establish the deadpan patois of contemporary American comedy, most recently with a Showtime special called I Love You. Expect the kind of cell phone and Arnie jokes you’ve probably heard—and laughed at—before.
