James Blunt’s raspy voice and soppy, romantic dramedy-esque brand of music is enough to trigger most people’s gag reflex. But he does deserve a bit of respect—not as a musician, but as a former Captain in the British Army, where he reportedly refused NATO orders to attack the Russians. You’d think a man with the balls to pull that off would have the balls to, well, sing like he has balls—but Blunt shows no evidence of it. Plus, his reputation was further tarnished when his record company refused to authorize a Weird Al Parody of his hit “You’re Beautiful,” called “You’re Pitiful.” Having a song parodied by Weird Al is a badge of honor; embrace it.
