Artist James Otto

  • James Otto

James Otto is part of a breed that looks at country as a form of Southern-tinged party-rock, picking up on some of its traditions (good times) but scratching over some (witty, poetic songwriting). He's literally a more ballsy brother-in-law to Rascal Flatts member Jay DeMarcus, who produced his 2008 albumSunset Man. Songs like the sentimental "These Are The Good Ole Days" and the party-bumper "Drink & Dial" are charming enough, but they just sound like they could've come from any number of competent country acts.
