Artist Jason Mraz

Jason Mraz’s timing was either insanely lucky or presciently planned: Just as post-Dave Matthews straightforward-rock guys were catching some overflow, his debut, Waiting For My Rocket To Come, grabbed that slightly bluesy sound and turned up the pop elements. The Virginia-based singer-songwriter has unsurprisingly found success with it, scoring hits with middle-of-the-road songs like “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry).” 2008’s We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. is more soulful and slinky, an interesting sonic evolution that seems to be paying off in chart success.
