Jason Seed

Guitarist Jason Seed has toured extensively and played sideman to a number of jazz and experimental-rock acts, including Jessica Lurie and Trey Gunn. But with his Elixir Ensemble, Seed demonstrates an unpredictable, Lounge Lizards-esque flair for jazz and modern composition, also touching on funk, rock, and other sounds for sophisticated, tightly structured pieces fleshed out with improvisations that veer closer to Bill Frisell than Phish. Seed continued his innovative ways with last year’s 3, which was recorded with members of the Milwaukee and Chicago symphonies.
