Artist Jeff Austin

As the renowned mandolin player for the Boulder-based Yonder Mountain String Band, Jeff Austin understands the merits of old-timey music. But like most people who draw their influences from the past, Austin likes to add in certain modern twists. Inspired by his love of the Grateful Dead and other, more contemporary bluegrass players like Nickel Creek, Austin implements various effects pedals to flesh out his mandolin playing. With that setup, he jams and riffs well in a live setting, showcasing not just his talent on his chosen instrument, but his love for music overall.
